International, Regional and National Cooperation in the field of SAR

INTERNATIONAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF SAR

Service Level Agreement (SLA) between Doha Joint Rescue Coordination Center and Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (2013)

This agreement defines the items of mutual cooperation for improvement of SAR activities in the state of Qatar based on aviation international and national (ICAO) requirements.

The basic objective of this agreement includes the following matters:

  • Providing reliable SAR communications
  • Further development of SAR procedures (National SAR Manual)
  • Implementation of agreed aviation standards
  • Improving SAR operation effectiveness using satellite data.
MOU with Turkey (June 2019)

This MOU established a framework for cooperation between the participants in carrying out SAR activities and setting out their various responsibilities,

The area of cooperation between parties including:-

  • Arranging exchange visits between SAR personnel and carrying out joint SAR exercises and training.
  • Supporting and conducting joint research and development initiatives aimed at reducing search time, improving rescue effectiveness and minimizing risk to SAR personal.
  • Utilizing standard SAR procedures and communications appropriate for cooperation and coordination between SAR facilities of parties responding to the same distress incident.
  • Conducting regular communications checks including the use of alternative method to account for communications overload during the major disasters.
  • Establishment of a joint SAR committee to provide a means for ongoing cooperation in improving SAR effectiveness.
